Vintage Fashion Fair - Free tickets!

This one is not just for my recessionistas, its for my vintage fashionistas! On Sunday 17th January, Vintage Fashion London will be holding its first Vintage Fashion Fair of 2010. If you are a lover of vintage fashion from the 1800's to the 1980's (and who isn't, vintage is all the range these days daaaarlinnng) then you NEED to head down to the Vintage Fashion Fair in charming Primrose Hill for the opportunity to uncover and purchase unique vintage goodies from dresses and coats to bags, hats, gloves, textiles and more!  There will be 28 stands for you to browse on a lazy Sunday afternoon and with home made food and refreshments available to purchase you have no excuse not to have the energy to rummage through the racks and seek a vintage bargain! I love vintage clothing - the ultimate appeal for me is the potential story behind each vintage piece and the uniqueness of each item that cannot be found on the High Street (however much 'vintage' lines try, they just aren't the real deal right??). Note: debit/credit cards are NOT accepted at the fair so make sure you have enough cash on you - this is actually a blessing for us recessionistas; decide your budget, withdraw cash and you're guaranteed not to go overboard!

With "very wearable vintage pieces at affordable prices" this is a recessionista/fashionista's dream! I can't wait, this will be my first ever Vintage Fashion Fair and I'm uber-excited; I've done the vintage stores but with a variety of different stalls and sellers in one place (super-convenient), the Vintage Fashion Fair is bound to get my pulses racing!  I'm personally on the look out for some fab vintage accessories - hair accessories, bags, jewellery, belts and vintage leather goods! Oooooh it's gonna be so fun trying to find these treasures!

I'm going bright and early... who wants to join me?? Entry to the fair is £3 but Vintage Fashion London have limited FREE tickets up for grabs (did you even doubt I wouldn't have some sort of freeness involved?!).  Just click HERE to fill out your details and if successful, founder and owner of Vintage Fashion London, Marilyn, will email you a free ticket (+1 guest).

Learn more about Vintage Fashion London - a fab website for vintage fashion - and be in the know about future Vintage Fashion Fairs (it's a monthly affair fashionistas!) by visiting their lovely website www.vintagefashionlondon.co.uk.

Date: Sunday 17th January 2010
Time: 11am - 5pm
Venue: Cecil Sharp House, 2 Regents Park Road, London NW1 7AY
Closest Tube: Camden Town (although it's Sunday so you can park for free & throw your vintage goodies in the boot!)

Jeeez, can't say your No.1 Recessionista doesn't love ya!!! This is one of my fave posts for 2010 so far!

Longchamp... I LOVE!

On my way back from Paris from Christmas, I picked up this CUTE lil Longchamp backpack at Charles De Gualle airport. Part of the Le Pliage collection, it folds away into the teeniest-tiniest thing and then folds out into the most convenient, chic French accessory. It really is a great sized bag for all your essentials and more - this can easily hold my purse, satnav, hand cream, anti-bac, lipgloss, mirror, big hairbrush with plenty of room left over LOL! It's even got a lil pocket inside :-) I LOVE IT, LOVE IT, LOVE IT! I love the Longchamp Le Pliage collection altogether - a collection of the most classic, affordable (being the key word) and convenient luxe bags.

What do you think? Je pense c'est la opitomy du chic français

Isn't it adorable? It was a choice between the classic go-with-everything brown and the spring colour of lavendar - I stuck with brown for obvious reasons! Not sure if it's out in the UK as it's not available online via the UK website.. YET (so yes, I am feeling a lil exclusive please, don't burst my bubble!)

Hmmm.. ok I admit it wasn't entirely a recessionista purchase, it put me back 62Euros BUT my justification... I had 15Euros left over, this was my Xmas & New Year's gift to myself AND I haven't seen this style in the UK. And anyway, I have to splurge and treat myself every now and again, especially with the ££'s and pennies I've managed to save over the year :-) :-)

Fab FREE Pampering from Wahanda

Wow! So, like, I LOVE Twitter! I was Tweeting away begging someone to buy me some Wahanda spa vouches (desperately needed!) and Wahanda twittered back the following:

Wahanda @MetsThrifty Until they do, why not treat yourself to some free pampering? The Ark Age Aware facial is especially good! http://www.wahanda.com/products/price-under-1-gbp/

Anyway off I went to visit the link, because you know can never get enough FREE pampering and low and behold a list of 37 FREE pampering sessions! I had a quick butchers and my top 3 are:

  1. Free Skin Assessment and Mini Facial with latest Ark Age Aware Skincare (worth £25)
  2. Free Beautcamp Pilates session (worth £25)

For me, that is the perfect top 3! 1) get into a good skin care routine for 2010, 2) get into shape & maintain a healthy balanced lifestyle in the new year 3) get my 2010 style in order. What more could I ask for to kick start the new year? I need to get my appointments booked ASAP!

What's Wahanda all about anyway? One of the best, if not THE best wellness site around (www.wahanda.com) offering spa days/breaks, health & beauty offers etc. Check it out and hint to your loved ones if they haven't got you a Xmas pressie yet! I'm a right sucker for the spa so no doubt I'll be on this website seeking the best spa deals at every opp!

£20 off Kurt Geiger shoes.. £10 Selfridges gift card... are you BONKERS?!

Kurt Geiger are offering a MASSIVE £20 off your first online order... until the end of June. That is SUCH a great deal for us shoe lovers out there, don't you think?! Their shoes are TOO hot! SELFRIDGES also have a wicked deal at the moment for American Express credit card holders - they're giving you a £10 SELFRIDGES gift card!

How to get the discounts? Simple! for the KG discount visit www.kurtgeiger.com/instore and sign up to the newsletter... as soon as you have filled it out, you will receive a discount code to use online until the end of June... Check the T's & C's, as discount not valid on already reduced items etc etc... but DEFINATELY an excuse for the super expensive KG's you have been saving for! Oh and if you're after more than 1 pair of shoes (they are all gorgeous after all lol!) then perhaps one could get their friends/family to sign up to receive another £20 off... just a suggestion! ;-)

What do you think about these babies? I am too loving them all!!!

To get the £10 SELFRIDGES gift card American Express Cashback credit card holders need to log onto their online account and navigate to the shopping offers. Click on the SELFRIDGES offer and print off the voucher. You need to spend £50 or more instore at SELFRIDGES before the end of May [BE QUICK THIS ONE ENDING THIS WEEK!]!then you can take your receipt(s) to the customer service desk and redeem at £10 gift card.. SWEET!!

Now, I'm in a dilemma as to what to put my £10 Selfridges voucher towards... how about these sexy CL's.. the gift card is valid for 2 years after all.. maybe by that time I'll be rich or I'll be able to justify spending so much money on a pair of shoes... hmm or maybe I'll just rob my cousin who's lucky enough to own a pair?????
Let me know about your purchases! Mets Thrifty x
